About Us

About Us

RDAC was set up as a Charity in 2007 to support the continuation of mobility services linked to driving accessibility, which were originally available at Mosley Hall Hospital in Birmingham.

Our primary focus is supporting people with accessibility needs linked to a medical condition, disability or progressive conditions.
We have grown to provide 9 centres offering a range of services and support, working closely with other mobility centres in the Driving Mobility network.

Who We Are

We have supported over 35,000 people to date, providing expertise and working with others to drive innovation to ensure we do all we can to support people to have the freedom to move.

Over the next 5 years, we have a goal to diversify our services so that they meet the needs of a widening community of people, growing from around 4,000 assessments a year to over 7,000.

Support Us

At the Regional Driving Assessment Centre, everyone deserves the freedom to move. It takes 2 hours to assess what could help - and you can help make that possible.

Our "Give Two" fundraising campaign is all about choosing how you want to get involved: just £2 can help towards giving someone the freedom to move - and that's where our "Give Two" campaign begins. You can support us by giving £2, twice, or by providing your time in whichever way works for you: two minutes to spread the word, two hours to fundraise, or two days to take on a bigger challenge.

However you choose to give, your support will raise vital funds and awareness, helping us provide life-changing assessments, equipment, and opportunities for people living with disabilities and life-limiting medical conditions. Together, we can unlock independence and bring real change to people's lives.

Driving Mobility is supported by HM Government and has Baroness Thomas of Winchester as its patron.

Our Accreditation

We are proud to be accredited by Driving Mobility, the national charity overseeing 20 organisations across the UK. Driving Mobility ensures consistency, quality and collaboration with partners such as the Department for Transport, DVLA, DVA (NI), Motability, and the Police.

Funding

RDAC currently receives funding from the Department of Transport to support our driving assessments, as well as providing contracted services with DVLA, Motability, and we work in partnerships with several police forces and local road safety initiatives.
