about us

Established in 2007, we are a charity providing assessments for people with medical conditions or disabilities to help them regain or maintain their independence. We offer practical advice on equipment and adaptations, and retraining which will enable you to travel safely and comfortably.

Our Head office is based in Hampton in Arden, Solihull and we have an accredited centre in Manchester both of these support 7 satellite centres and we operate 5 days a week, providing around 4,000 assessments a year.

At RDAC we understand that travelling is more than just getting from A to B.

It can often be the difference from feeling completely isolated to being a part of your community.

We offer practical advice within a range of  assessments, equipment, adaptations, retraining to drive and alternative transport options for individuals, families and carers, to enable you to travel safely and comfortably.

We are committed to delivering high-quality assessments and all our assessors are qualified driving instructors or occupational therapists, specially trained for their roles. Our team engage in continuous development with regular supervision and relevant courses. We monitor service quality through regular surveys and adhere to strict accreditation standards.

As a charity we are committed to following the values of Respect, Collaboration, Inclusion, Innovation and Excellence.

Our independent assessment services are accredited by the national charity Driving Mobility, which oversees 20 organisations across the UK, including both charities and NHS centres. Driving Mobility ensures consistent standards, promotes best practice, and provides training to all centres, working closely with key national organisations like the Department for Transport, DVLA, DVA (NI), Motability, and the Police, among others.

Driving Mobility is privileged to have Baroness Thomas of Winchester as their patron and is supported by HM Government.
